Do you know How to use the gelatin to produce gelatin capsules? Let’s follow us to explore this process. 1) Raw material:
The main material of gelatin capsules is Gelatin. So the quality of gelatin will effect the quality of gelatin capsules. To keep a high quality and stable quality, YASIN always use the Pb gelatin and other brand gelatin to produce gelatin empty capsules. So our capsule filling rate can reach 99.9%. We always believe for better capsules, we need to control the quality from the origin.
Other materials are water, pigment, titanium dioxide, pharmaceutical-grade Sodium lauryl sulfate.
For pigment & pharmaceutical-grade titanium dioxide (TiO2 ), it is only used on colored capsules. TiO2 is used as the opacifier in capsules production. And And some customers may require TiO2 free capsules, we can replace the TiO2 with zinc oxide. But if customer need colored capsules without opacifier, the capsule will be clear capsules with color, like the orange-transparent color in below picture. For transparent capsule, there is no pigment nor TiO2 added.
Sodium lauryl sulfate is used according to the National Production Standard to control the grease content in capsule. For different country, the maximum amount that can be added is different.
Production Flow Sharing:
There may be some difference on the production process with different empty capsules manufacturers due to the production technique or machine. But these main steps are shared by all empty capsules manufacturers.
It is very important to control the temperature and time during the gelatin melting and color blending. It would directly influence the empty hard capsule quality, such as thickness, hardness and weight.

1) Our special step for better control quality:
In the testing process of gelatin capsules, we invest to buy a Capsules filling machine to better control and improve our quality. Every batch of the gelatin empty capsules we produce will be testing by the filling machine to calculate the filling rate, and if the filling rate is below 99.9%, we will reproduce.
Machine test
A) Judge the loss of percentage (damage rate)
B) Whether there is flying cap
C) Whether the cap and body can be pulled out
D) Whether the cut is flat
E) Whether the thickness of the cap and body is hard enough
Finally we also have manual light inspection in case there is any unqualitified pieces.
